A Foundation in Acrylic

Jacqueline began exhibiting at a young age, with her first show at Liljevalchs Vårsalong when she was 17. Since then, she has developed a prolific practice across numerous series, exploring narrative, symbolism, and character through acrylic on canvas.

While Jacqueline has produced several series over the past decade, Grid is representative of her most recent period working in acrylic (2021–2023). The painting engages with abstraction as a way of depicting the spirit realm. The grid is understood as the underlying fabric of reality, a foundational structure from which forms emerge and take shape beyond the grid itself.

A New Chapter

With over ten years working with acrylics on canvas, in 2025, Jacqueline began transitioning to oil painting.

Painted in Montserrat, this work is among her first in oil. The scene depicts a small house that appears isolated from its own standpoint, yet is closely surrounded by larger elements in the landscape—most notably the porcelain plant—bringing questions of scale and perspective into focus.

Working in oil has allowed Jacqueline to deepen her relationship with color, introducing greater richness, luminosity, and nuance to her palette. Long drawn to bold, expressive color, she uses the medium here to build atmosphere and presence.

Several more oil paintings are currently in progress, as yet unpublished, signaling the start of a new and evolving body of work.
